Introducing...The Market Bazaar Collection

Michaela Smith (RO Dream Fulfilment Specialist) - Thursday, June 05, 2014

Peel back the drapes and enter the majestic and dizzying depths of the Market Bazaar. Glittering in the warm sunlight baskets of black pepper, cumin, turmeric, chilli and limes line the walkways as far as the eye can see...

Introducing our new Market Bazaar collection! Inspired by the souks and bazaars of Marakesh and Istanbul. Feasts of rich colours and scents, they are a party for the senses and we have tried to capture just a bit of that exotic glamour in the new collection.

It features stunning high polish artisan resin and recycled wood necklaces, earrings and bangles. The bright yet warm colours are perfect for this not-so-chilly Winter we are heading into. The artisan pieces have incredible textures and the designs are some of our favourites yet! Come along and discover for yourself...

The whole collection is online now so dive right in! xo RO

A Love...Book of Art

Megan Stewart (RO Media Maverick) - Thursday, May 22, 2014

These little sculptural designs by artist Issac Salazar are really quite incredible. Taking old books and cutting and folding the pages to reveal simple words of wisdom out of the texture of the pages, we think they'd make a lovely decorative addition to any bookcase. And even more importantly, the make us SMILE!

An Obsession... Bouffants and Broken Hearts

Megan Stewart (RO Media Maverick) - Tuesday, May 20, 2014
I've just come across the wonderfully quirky and colourful illustrations of surface illustrator and textile designer Kendra Dandy of Bouffants and Broken Hearts and I think I am in love!

Kendra plays with colourful patterns and graphics, repeating shapes and motifs in an off-centre kind of way to create some truly charming and smile-inducing work.

It was so difficult to choose my favourites - here's just a sampling, but her blog is DEFINITELY worth a peek! Keep an eye out for her prints on totes, clocks, and clothing too! So cute!

An Inspiration... Art by Eli sandra

Megan Stewart (RO Media Maverick) - Tuesday, May 13, 2014

Here's another talented artist we've been obsessing over of late...Elisandra - a self-taught Illustrator and artist based in Germany with a talent for using gorgeous textures in bright colours to create quirky illustrations. We especially love her prints featuring food - don't you think these could make a stunning cookbook!? That trifle certainly look good enough to eat...

There isn't much we love more here at Ruby Olive headquarters than a clever crafter! And these incredible paper patterns by Maud Vantours hit all the right notes, colourful, quirky, so distinctive and so beautiful, we could stare at these hypnotizing works for hours on end!

Created using layers and layers of colourful paper which is cut and arranged into mesmerising and truly inspiring arrangements. Absolutely love!

There are so many ideas, from gradients to rainbows to patterns and prints, here are some of our fave ideas for making your stairs something to show off!

An Obsession... Crazy Lighting

Michaela Smith (RO Dream Fulfilment Specialist) - Thursday, April 24, 2014

Lately we've been feeling a little bit of a decorating itch. We know the studio is full of bright, colourful and crazy decorations - almost to it's capacity - but we need MORE! The only place left to explore is the roof and with an abundance of unique and eccentric lighting options out there we took a dive into the world of lighting. Take a look at some of our favourite fixtures from around the internet!

It's a pity that the roof is too low to accommodate any of these particular ideas, maybe in our dream studio!

There certainly are some darn cute DIYs floating around for Easter!

Here's one we stumbled upon from Mer Mag that inspired an interpretaion from Probably Actually, too!

We think they'd be great for helping the little one's with portion control!

...And if that's not enough, here's a little more bunny-themed inspiration we've stumbled upon x

We hope you all have a safe and happy holiday! x Ruby Olive
